In the bordering Norwegian Kirkenes the annual international Conference «Kirkenes 2015» will be held on the 4 – 5
of February 2015.
Traditionally the urgent problems of Northern regions development are at the agenda of the Conference that’s why
the Kirkenes Conference is considered as the central forum for discussions of possibilities for international
cooperation at both sides of the border. At the topical sections of the Conference the following issues will be
highlighted: “The political development in the Northern region” “Industrial & Competence development”, “The
Northern region toward 2020” and others. Leading politicians and government officials, as well as Directors and
spesialists of big industrial enterprises and SMEs are invited to the Conference.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Børge Brende, Murmansk Oblast Governor Marina Kovtun, Lapland County Council Governor Mika Riipi, CEOs of the Chambers of Commerce of the Barents Region, leactures of the educational institutions of Norway, etc. are planning to attend the Conference.
